Day 1: Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport

Day 2: From Arusha to Tarangire National Park - Full-day safari

After breakfast, you will head to Tarangire National Park in a 4x4 vehicle for a game drive. You will carry picnic lunch boxes. The park, founded in 1970, is named after the Tarangire River, a permanent water source that attracts a wide variety of wildlife. It is famous for its majestic baobabs and its large herds of elephants. During the dry season (July-September), animals gather around the river, making sightings easier. You may see wildebeest, buffalo, zebras, Thomson's gazelles, eland, hartebeest, and, with luck, leopards. Lunch will be a picnic in the park, and later we will head to Tanzania Bush Camp for dinner and an overnight stay.

Recommended accommodation

  • Tanzania Bush Camps
Meal plan: Full board

Day 3: From Tarangire to Lake Eyasi and overnight in Karatu

Carrying a picnic lunch, we will head to Lake Eyasi, an alkaline lake about 50 km long. Its shores are home to leopards, hippos, monkeys, and a wide variety of birds. Here, we will enjoy the views of the Rift Valley escarpment and visit the Datoga pastoralists and the Hadzabe tribe, one of the last hunter-gatherer communities in Tanzania. Later, we will head to the Mto wa Mbu area to spend the night at a lodge.

Recommended accommodation

  • Kirurumu
  • Pamoja Lodge
Meal plan: Full board

Day 4: From Karatu to Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, we head to Serengeti National Park, crossing the farmlands of Karatu and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The Serengeti is famous for its endless plains and abundant wildlife. We will arrive in central Serengeti Seronera, home of the Seronera River, an important gathering point for wildlife. Lunch at camp, and an afternoon game drive in the park.

Day 5: Full day in Serengeti National Park

We will enjoy a full-day game drive exploring the plains, rocky outcrops (kopjes), and valleys. We will spot lions, cheetahs, leopards, wildebeest, zebras, giraffes, gazelles, and, with luck, wild dogs. Morning and afternoon game drives will be conducted.

Day 7: From Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater and return to Arusha

After breakfast, we will head to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Here we will enjoy a game drive in the Ngorongoro Crater, a spectacular setting with around 30,000 resident animals. It is an excellent place to spot flamingos at Lake Magadi and the rare black rhino. After a picnic lunch in the crater, we will return to Arusha for dinner.

Recommended accommodation

  • Amani Hotel
  • Pazuri Inn
Meal plan: Full board

Day 8: Day trip to Lake Duluti - canoeing and hiking

After breakfast, we head to Lake Duluti for a day of relaxation and outdoor activities. We will take a guided walk around the lake, exploring its history and biodiversity.
