9 Days - Great Migration & Ethnic Safari
Witness the Greatest Show on Earth
Imagine millions of wildebeest and zebras forming one vast herd, grunting in unison as they raise clouds of dust in their headlong rush, protecting one another from the surrounding predators. This itinerary takes you right to the heart of the action, where — with a little luck — you will watch the herds risk their lives crossing a river teeming with crocodiles. Not for the faint-hearted!
Beyond the Great Migration, this safari includes a unique ethnic experience: an encounter with the Hadzabe and Datoga tribes at Lake Eyasi — home to one of the last nomadic hunter-gatherer communities on Earth.
Standard Safari from €3,373 per person · Luxury Safari from €4,523 per person

Day 1 — Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport
As you exit Kilimanjaro International Airport, your personal Kipama African Safaris guide greets you with a big smile and a «TUNAKUKARIBISHA TANZANIA» — welcome to Tanzania! You are then transferred to your hotel to relax and soak up the African atmosphere. The great adventure begins the following morning.
Accommodation: Pazuri Inn / Under the Shade
Day 2 — Tarangire National Park
Tarangire National Park, situated in northern Tanzania, is a wildlife paradise. With its sweeping savannahs, iconic baobab trees and extraordinary faunal diversity, it guarantees an unforgettable safari experience. Expect majestic elephants, lions, zebras and a rich variety of birdlife.
Accommodation: Eileen's Tree Inn

Day 3 — Serengeti National Park (Centre/West/East)
Serengeti National Park is world-renowned as the ultimate safari destination, above all for the Great Migration. Spectacular herds of wildebeest and zebras stampede across the plains, pursued by a host of predators in nature's most dramatic theatre.
Accommodation: Tanzania Bush Camp (inside the Serengeti)

Days 4 & 5 — Northern Serengeti and the Great Migration
Two full days in the northern Serengeti with the chance to witness the legendary Mara River crossing. Picture yourself in your safari jeep, rolling across the Serengeti plains, when suddenly you encounter millions of wildebeest and zebras moaning and braying as they attempt to cross a crocodile-filled river. The Great Migration in its most raw and powerful form.
Accommodation: Tanzania Bush Camp Mobile Camp

Day 6 — Serengeti National Park (Centre/West-East)
We continue exploring another section of the Serengeti to encounter more animals in their natural habitat: giraffes, elephants, hyenas, wild dogs… Another day of pure African magic.
Accommodation: Tanzania Bush Camp

Day 7 — Ngorongoro Conservation Area
The famous Ngorongoro Crater is one of Africa's seven natural wonders. Formed two million years ago when a massive volcano erupted, its fertile lava soil has created a unique ecosystem sheltering the highest concentration of wildlife in Africa — including the elusive black rhino.
Accommodation: Eileen's Tree Inn

Day 8 — Ethnic Tribes at Lake Eyasi
The Hadzabe Tribe: One of the last nomadic hunter-gatherer groups in the world, living near Lake Eyasi in northern Tanzania. They preserve an ancestral way of life based on bow-and-arrow hunting, gathering tubers and fruits, and an egalitarian society passed down orally through the generations.
The Datoga Tribe: Also known as Mangáti in Swahili, this semi-nomadic agro-pastoral and blacksmithing people are of Nilotic speech and are considered the oldest tribe in Tanzania — a proud people with a reputation as the region's fiercest warriors.

Day 9 — Return Flight from Kilimanjaro International Airport
Your final day of adventure. Depending on your flight time, you can rest a little longer at the lodge before heading to Kilimanjaro International Airport for the journey home. Want more? You can extend your holiday on Zanzibar, Kiwengwa, Pemba or Unguja.
