Maramboi Tented Camp

This is a unique opportunity to experience and explore the Tarangire and Manyara ecosystems. Maramboi Tented Camp offers permanent facilities and endless views over rolling golden grasslands and a palm-fringed wilderness between Tarangire and Lake Manyara. This is a complete semi-arid experience centered on safaris. The stunning landscape of the Rift Valley offers visitors a natural, exceptional welcome into an area of extraordinary wildlife richness. The camp provides stunning views of Manyara National Park, the Rift Valley, the Ngorongoro Highlands and, on clear days, even Oldonyo Lengai, a mountain sacred to the Maasai.

The main house at Maramboi at night, a campfire in the wet season, and the salt pans of Manyara and Tarangire fill with water, attracting huge flocks of flamingos and other waders. This area is also the only place in East Africa where you can regularly see migratory herds of tens of thousands of wildebeest and zebras, followed by predators. While migrations occur in other parts of Tanzania, forest cover prevents a view of the scale you can appreciate at Maramboi Tented Camp thanks to the open nature of the surrounding grasslands.

40 spacious tents built on wide wooden decks. Among them are 26 standard rooms, 10 suites and 2 units with 2 connecting rooms, ideal for families with children. All have private bathrooms and private decks with 220V electric lighting 24 hours a day.

Activities include game drives, birdwatching on the shores of nearby Lake Manyara, and cultural interaction with the Datoga and Maasai tribes, whose bomas are set across the adjacent lands.
