Tortilis de Tarangire Camp

Only 120 km away from Arusha, our Tarangire Tortilis Camp is the perfect place to discover the richness of northern Tanzania. Our vision for the future is a Tortilis Camp run entirely by women, and we have started to employ them to be the first to achieve this goal.

This spacious camp, built between a row of four magnificent baobabs, overlooks a vast expanse of wetlands. Elephants look like boats sailing through the tall grass, watched from the warmth of our campfire area as you enjoy a drink and watch the sunset.
The Tarangire River is a backbone that gives life to this National Park and attracts herds of over 1000 elephants, huge numbers of giraffe and flows all year round, teeming with life for you to enjoy a safari on the banks of the river.
Walking tours with a National Parks ranger and driver-guide are a fascinating experience where you can observe everything from the largest elephants to the tiniest insects. The ranger and guide will share a deep understanding of the unique details and sensations experienced on foot. It is incredible to think that there is such an exciting tented Tortilis Camp so close to Arusha, the perfect place to begin or end a Tortilis Camp itinerary.
