Maramboi Tent Camp
Tarangire National Park
Maramboi Tent Camp
This is a unique opportunity to experience and explore the ecosystems of Tarangire and Manyara. Maramboi Tented Camp offers permanent facilities and endless views of rolling golden grasslands and palm-fringed wilderness between Tarangire and Lake Manyara. A visit to the area is essential for anyone interested in evolution, the origins of mankind and an explanation of the Rift Valley and the bigger picture of Africa.
This is a complete semi-desert safari-focused experience. The breathtaking scenery of the Rift Valley gives the visitor a natural and exceptional welcome to an area of extraordinary wildlife richness. The camp offers breathtaking views of Manyara National Park, the Rift Valley, the Ngorongoro Highlands and, on clear days, even Oldonyo Lengai, a mountain sacred to the Maasai.
The main house at Maramboi at night, a campfire in the wet season, and the Manyara and Tarangire salt pans fill with water, attracting huge flocks of flamingos and other wading birds. This area is also the only place in East Africa where migrating herds of tens of thousands of wildebeest and zebra are frequently observed, followed by predators. Although the migrations occur in other areas of Tanzania, forest cover prevents a view of the magnitude seen at the Maramboi tented camp due to the exposed nature of the surrounding grasslands.
